Three laws of logarithms

First things first, what is logarithms? Logarithms define by $y = \log_b x$ where $b^y = x$. From this definition, you can derive some laws of it.

There is three basic laws of logarithms

  • Product Law: $\log_b (xy) = \log_b x + \log_b y$
  • Quotient Law: $\log_b \frac{x}{y} = \log_b x – \log_b y$
  • Power Law: $\log_b x^y = y \log_b x$
